Project Description
Composer’s Note
In 2001, Dr Richard Gill OAM, in association with Alfred Publishing Co., Inc. (Australia), requested that I compose some music for inclusion in the “Alfred New Voices Choral Series”, a collection of music aimed especially at school-aged choristers in the primary (K-6) environment.
My piece, Lula, is scored for treble voices and piano, and appears as a Grade 5 work in the series.
It is a lively little song which has a sense of melodrama about it!
It draws its text from the two syllables of its title (loo-lah).
Accompanied by a colourful piano part, the choristers are encouraged to sing with a confident, bright tone of voice.
Matthew Orlovich,
Composer.
